MERCY STREET, an award-winning PBS original drama series inspired by real people and events, will return to PBS stations for a second season. The series premieres on WTJX on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. Season Two picks up directly from the dramatic events at the end of the first season finale, continuing to explore life in the chaotic city of Alexandria, now the melting pot of the region. The series follows the doctors, nurses, female volunteers, civilians, wounded men from both sides, runaway slaves, free blacks, prostitutes, speculators, spies, and other residents of the war-torn city, as they navigate their new world.
