V.I. Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is pleased to announce that the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services has received $75,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration on Aging.

The funding will go towards the Department’s Senior Medicare Patrol Project, which is part of a new co-op agreement to support the development and testing of innovative programs, services and systems of support that respond to the needs of the nation’s growing elderly population and to improve knowledge of the problems and needs of the elderly. In addition, it will also help to ensure adequately trained personnel in the field of aging, and to demonstrate better ways of improving the quality of life for the elderly, their caregivers and people with disabilities.
