Virgin Islands Case Files concludes its 10-episode run on WTJX-TV Channel 12 this Thursday, July 20, featuring the unsolved murder cases of Kādiyen Illidge and Steve Hart on St. Croix.

A night out with friends turned into tragedy for Kādiyen when she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout in downtown Frederiksted on October 9, 2020. The 21-year-old had just started a new job and was growing her natural haircare business as well. “She was just kind of like peaking and getting a little steadiness about herself, and for that to be cut short just like that, and all of us have to swallow that pill and move on…I have a hard time swallowing that,” said Kādiyen’s father, Kelvin Illidge.

Steve Hart was gunned down during a dice game in Campo Rico on November 12, 2005, less than 24 hours before he was scheduled to relocate to Florida to be closer to his three-year-old daughter. “He was a great brother, he was a great father, he was a great uncle,” said Steve’s sister, Maxine Hart.

Anyone with information about the murders of Kādiyen Illidge or Steve Hart is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Virgin Islands Case Files is supported by the Virgin Islands Police Department to help address the high number of unsolved homicides in the territory. The show serves as a call to action for residents to come forward with new information that could help detectives close longstanding homicide cases.

The final episode of Virgin Islands Case Files airs Thursday, July 20, at 8:30 p.m. and repeats on Saturday, July 22, at 9:00 p.m. on WTJX-TV Channel 12, on the WTJX app, and by localizing WTJX on the PBS Video app, which is available on iOS (iPhone), Android, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung Smart TV, Chromecast, and VIZIO.
