The Virgin Islands Department of Education announced that due to an ongoing job action by the American Federation of Teachers Local (AFT) 1826, the Claude O. Markoe Elementary School and the Eulalie Rivera K-8 School on St. Croix was closed today. The closure was due to a lack of sufficient personnel for instruction. The VIDE will keep the public informed regarding any additional school closures due to the continued job action by AFT.
