Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett joined other members on Thursday, December 5th to speak out against the issue. "It has been over two years since Hurricanes Irma and Maria, in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, destroyed homes, businesses, and all kinds of public infrastructure in both areas," said Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett. "Any further delay by HUD to facilitate the CDBG (Community Development Block Grant Disaster) recovery funds that have been obligated to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico is just not unacceptable. It defies the letter and intent of the law duly passed by Congress and even signed by the President."
