Sen. DeGazon protects elderly from financial abuse - Sen. Allison DeGazon’s bill protecting the elderly from financial abuse has been forwarded to the Committee on Rules and Judiciary. Bill No. 33-0077 is an act amending title 34, chapter 15 of the Virgin Islands Code by deleting section 470 and adding a new chapter relating to the financial exploitation of elderly persons or dependent adults.
Villa Morales property will be converted into a transitional home. Housing Finance Director, Daryl Griffith, is going to partner with a nonprofit organization that will handle all the wrap-around care for individuals in need. The wrap-around care includes mental health and substance abuse.
The Virgin Island Office of Veterans Affairs in collaboration with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting Veterans Town Hall Meetings in the Virgin Islands. The first Town Hall meeting will be tonight, December 10th at the American Legion Post #90, Subbase in St. Thomas from 6 pm to 8 pm. The second Town Hall will be Wednesday, December 11th at the Cardiac Center in St. Croix from 6 pm to 8 pm.
