The Virgin Islands Carnival Committee has started a case against the Government of the Virgin Islands for trademarks and other intellectual property rights to produce carnival in Charlotte Amalie, Sen Myron Jackson was asked his take on the issue. The V.I.C.C. has hosted VI Carnival for 68 years., the V.I.C.C. is moving forward with a lawsuit in the District Court of the Virgin. Governor Bryan said, "there will only be one carnival in St. Thomas in April, and the Division of Festivals will run it. Kudos to the Department of Tourism and the Division of Festivals and Cultural Heritage for their creativity and initiative."


A federal judge sentence Scott D. McKenzie, who was once the Virgin Islands Republican Party's treasurer to 12 months and one day in prison for making false statements to the federal elections commission.
