Col. Daniel Hibner with the Army Corps of Engineers say they will have a 46-bed capacity, designated for COVID-19 patients up and ready by May 8th.

The St. Croix abattoir is on its way according to Sen. Allison L. DeGazon. "I was invited to the USDA inspection by Commissioner Nelson. I met the new Quality Control representative and the new Abattoir Director. This staff seemed to be very energized and put in a lot of work to turn the abattoir around which is expected to be up and running in the coming weeks in full compliance." Recently, DeGazon submitted legislation to buy produce and livestock from registered farmers as a local stimulus for agriculture and the abattoir opening is an important aspect.
