Governor Albert Bryan Jr. said he is initiating the blue “Open Doors” phase on the Territory’s path back to normalcy effective June 1.


The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, which provides an additional $600 per week to unemployment beneficiaries, began this week. All eligible recipients will receive a lump sum check retroactive to April 4, and the weekly payments will continue through July 31.


Senator Kenneth L. Gittens is working to alleviate some of the anxiety associated with working on the frontlines in the battle to fight COVID-19. He is proposing bills to provide up to 80 hours of emergency paid sick leave to any first responders that contract the coronavirus or demonstrate a need to be quarantined, as well as offering a supplemental payment funded by the federal CARES Act due to the public health emergency. "We must account and compensate for the risks they take each day to keep us safe."
