Senate President Novelle Francis is holding a Committee of the Whole hearing today at 10 am to get testimony on the proposed amendments to the VI Cannabis use act. The meeting is going to be held on St. Thomas.

The V.I. Department of Health said that it has suspended enforcement of non-compliance for using single-service tableware — disposable serving utensils such as plates, forks, spoons, and knives — until June 22. This postponement will allow retail service establishments such as restaurants and other outfits enough time to purchase the disposable items, D.O.H. said. "Masks or facial coverings should be worn by all patrons and should be worn at all times except when eating or drinking. Patrons should wear facial coverings when they leave their seats or when they are waiting for food or drinks," the department said."
Detectives of the Economic Crimes Unit arrested Kzsa Hodge, age 24 of Altona, and charged her with Forgery, Obtaining Money by False Pretenses, and Grand Larceny. Hodge, who was employed as a medical caretaker of the elderly female victim, admitted to forging the victim’s signature and cashing several checks. She also attempted to cash a check of over $800 in April. Bail for Hodge was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, she was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advice of Rights hearing.
