Police place 27-year-old Bernard Hodge of Estate Richmond under arrest, charging him with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession or Sale of Ammunition. An officer was notified of a firearm in the car. Hodge, the owner of the vehicle, admitted to owning the firearm. A check of the Firearm Bureau’s records revealed Hodge was not licensed to possess a firearm in the territory. He was placed under arrest as a result. Bail for Hodge was set at $50,000. Unable to post bail, he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections.


The Director of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Senator Kurt Vialet went round and round yesterday at the Finance Committee meeting.


U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than $2 million in undeclared currency found in bags believed to be dumped from a vessel traveling near Vieques, Puerto Rico following a boat chase. Authorities observed objects floating in the water that appeared to be duffel bags and retrieved them before sinking.
