Governor Albert Bryan Jr. stated in a press conference that the territory is ready to open.
Police on St. Croix, Friday, May 29, targeted suspects with illegal firearms and netted four arrests and the seizure of seven firearms and over 300 rounds of ammunition. Friday's operation was conducted in three different locations at homes in Mt. Pleasant, Castle Coakley, and Sion Hill. At least three men escaped during the operation in Castle Coakley. Four suspects were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of firearms and possession of ammunition.
The Virgin Islands Police Department announces that the Firearms Bureau in both districts is now open but operating by appointments only. They are open on Monday through Thursday starting at 8:30 am.
