Police on St. Croix were investigating an assault when they found a homemade explosive in the house.
Yesterday, at approximately 4:24 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a man down at Estate Mountain. Officers traveled to the area and discovered an unresponsive male lying in the parking lot near Neighborhood Pharmacy. The individual was transported via ambulance to the Juan Francisco Luis Hospital and Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The VIPD is asking for the community’s assistance in locating 37-year-old John Allen. Allen is wanted in connection with several larcenies that have occurred from 2019 to May 2020 throughout the island of St. Thomas. Allen is a Caucasian male, 5 feet 11 inches in height, and weighs approximately 160 pounds. Anyone who knows Allen’s whereabouts is urged to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 714-9800 or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
Thirty-two-year-old Loretta Biss and 35-year-old Nicole Williams, both of Nazareth, turned themselves in to police after learning that they were wanted. They were placed under arrest, charged with Grand Larceny and Trespassing. Biss and Williams are two of three suspects who reportedly stole puppies from a residence without permission of the owner in the area of St. Peter Mountain on April 13. Bail for Biss and Williams was set at $20,000 each. They each posted bail and were released.
On St. Thomas route 335 is closed to all through traffic until further notice. Route 335, which is in upper Lindbergh Bay, intersects with Route 303 in the south and with Route 33 - Crown Mountain Road, in the north. A section of this roadway has been compromised, and as such the roadway is now closed to all through traffic. Residents who live below the road closure must now access their homes from Route 303. Residents who live above must use Crown Mountain Road - Route 33 to access their homes.
