The V.I. Department of Health has confirmed six new cases of the coronavirus in the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to the latest infographic published by the department five of the six cases were recorded on St. Croix, and one in St. Thomas. Of the five cases on St. Croix, one was transmitted through close contact, two were travel-related, and two were under investigation by the Department of Health as of Tuesday night. The sole case on St. Thomas was travel related. Health officials are now tracking 11 active cases.

Juan F. Luis Hospital appears to be on track with collections with contract doctors.
Police arrested 22-year-old Edeikah Jacobs of Work & Rest, charging her with Domestic Violence and Contempt of Court, Domestic Violence. The victims reported that they were driving in Christiansted when they noticed Jacobs in a vehicle following them. The male victim, Jacobs’ former partner, pulled over to see why she was following them, at which time Jacobs approached the car and threw a drink on him. The female victim exited the vehicle and Jacobs sprayed something in the female victim’s face, causing her pain. The female victim informed officers of a court order against Jacobs for stalking and harassment. Jacobs was arrested for assaulting her former partner and for violating the court order. She was not offered bail as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes. She was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advice of Rights hearing.
