The V.I. Department of Health (D.O.H) issued detailed guidance for the reopening of schools in the fall. Schools will reopen based on the level of impact the coronavirus is having on the community. According to D.O.H., which gave three scenarios of reopening coded by the colors green, yellow and red; representing 100 percent in-person learning, a combination of in-person and virtual learning, and 100 percent virtual learning, respectively. D.O.H. said the guidance relies heavily on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and provides clear steps for students and staff who are returning for the 2020-2021 school year. "Due to the unpredictability of COVID-19, this document will be reviewed and periodically updated as appropriate," D.O.H. said.


The V.I. Department of Health is tracking 31 active cases of the coronavirus in the U.S. Virgin Islands, following the confirmation of 4 new cases Monday. The latest cases were spread equally between St. Croix and St. Thomas, with the cases on St. Croix transmitted through close contact. In St. Thomas cases are under investigation as of Monday evening.


At the Committee of the Whole hearing, questions were asked about the funding for the summer's end marine project on St. John.
