The VI Consortium indicated that the number of people infected with Covid-19 at the Alexander A. Farrelly Criminal Complex has grown from 20 to over 30. According to a corrections officer working at the facility, he said that the facility had become a major Covid-19 center. Bureau of Corrections officials opened two additional rooms to place inmates. The officer said a previous memo had advised B.O.C employees that if they felt ill, they should stay home until tested and results received. The anonymous correction officer stated that officers who are quarantined or waiting on test results have their pay deducted for time out of work.


Governor Bryan urges individuals to wear their face masks to limit the spread of COVID-19.


The Covid-19 Task Force on St. Croix has issued one written warning and closed 13 non-essential businesses. The administration said Febrillet Bar & Restaurant was issued a written warning for serving alcoholic beverages to patrons before receiving their ordered food. Below, the businesses considered non-essential on St. Croix that was closed by the task force as part of Governor Bryan's latest executive order:

  13. Sean Miller Auto Cleaning

According to DLCA, in the St. Thomas-St. John District, the task force issued one citation, closed eight businesses considered non-essential and four areas where individuals were social gathering. La Esquina Dulge, LLC was ordered closed pending a hearing with the Covid-19 Board. According to DLCA, the business was caught selling alcoholic beverages to a patron who did not purchase any food. Under the governor's latest order, all restaurants shall conduct business as take-out service only. Patrons may purchase an alcoholic beverage only when they purchased food, DLCAL said.


The Veterans Administration is conducting COVID-19 testing for Virgin Islands Veterans from August 31 thru September 28, on the islands of St. Croix, St Thomas, and St John. Veterans interested in being tested should report to the VA Clinic in your district on one of the allotted days between 9 am and 12 pm.
